Starting From Zero

Craig Divers of Starting From Zero likes nothing better than sitting in his workshop in Kimbell with an object on his bench, thinking of possible ways it can be reinvented. The Swappa Seat has been one such transformation. Incorporating the trusty old wooden beer crate with another retro kiwi icon, the New Zealand woollen blanket, has lead to a sought after piece of Kiwiana furniture.
After living over a decade in Asia, Craig was impressed with how skilled craftspeople were in upcycling items that other people considered waste or junk. Taking inspiration from these artisans, Craig has recycled and incorporated items such as old wooden roof tiles, fencing wire and corrugated iron into his work.
