Simply Stone West Coast
Simply Stone West Coast are a mother-daughter carving duo, carving pendants and earrings from stone and pounamu all sourced from the rugged West Coast of Aotearoa.
Simply Stone is simply that - beautiful hand-carved stones, showcasing the natural beauty of NZ stones and minerals. Seemingly embodying a timeless biophilic relationship with nature, the Tennant ladies create simple and elegant work that is neither feminine or masculine, but rather jewellery for all.
Mia Tennant is a self-taught carver, having trained herself after inheriting her fathers stones and tools upon his passing. Sara Tennant used to sell her mother, Mia’s, work at the markets around the Southern Lakes District. As of 2019, Sara has returned to the West Coast to learn the family trade from her mother, whilst still finding time to travel New Zealand selling their collaborative wares at the markets all over.
All stones are hand sourced from the beaches and rivers of Aotearoa.
