Pickle Jar Fern

The Cardrona Hotel serves a rather delicious fried pickle (or 'Frickle') on their bar snack menu. The pickles are received in the first instance, in these great big glass jars. We thought a re-purposing solution was in order, and thus the Pickle Jar Fern has been born!

Each fern terrarium is potted by our gardener, with charcoal at the base to aid soil drainage. Ferns come with care instructions, however in general these are to be kept indoors, with natural light, they should be kept moist but not saturated. Eventually the fern will out grow it's Jar and require re-potting.
